Love it list.

I feel like an accomplished human being today because; a) I finally got around to buy some vacuum bags (is that what they're called in English?) which means I could finally vacuum the kitchen and my room. b) We got our "new" microwave! c) I did loads of homework today and d) now I get to blog a little bit.

Instead of telling you about my day (well actually I have to say this one thing, I went to Clas Ohlson today to get the vacuum bags and they literally have e v e r y t h i n g. I just wanted to buy so much stuff. I mean they had a slushie-machine! I know I don't need one but how cool would that be??) I would tell you about some things that are on my "love it-list" at the moment. Here we go!

ONE: Tulips. Since Easter and sprin is sorta coming the shops everywhere are selling tulips in beautiful colors and since tulips are my favorite flowers I couldn't be more thrilled. Just today I picked some up in shades of light pink and lilac from the store. They make me so happy. The picture below is pretty crappy 'cause it's so dark outside but you get the point.

TWO: Clipper's Peppermint Tea. I have to admit that the peppermint teabags we have at our apartment at this moment are actually my roommates but sharing is caring. We're down to our last few bags so I'll have to buy some more soon. I'm obsessed with the minty tea and the pretty package it comes in is just a bonus!

THREE: Daily vlogs/Youtuber videos. This isn't something I've just started watching now, I started watching youtube videos when I was in 7th grade I think but recently I've started watching a lot of daily vlogs. It's weird, why am I so fascinated about other people's lives? I definitely have some stalker tendencies... So below is one of my favorites Colleen Ballinger aka. PsychoSoprano aka. Miranda Sings!

FOUR: Avocados, Mozarella cheese, Sun-dried tomatoes and canned tuna. I eat them together or separately, I don't really care 'cause right now I could literally eat these four things for every meal each and every day. I'm pretty sure that would get quite boring pretty fast but yeah, right now I would totally do it. And they're also four things that I always have in my fridge/cupboard. YUM!

We could do this all night.

I've had a wonderful weekend. On Friday I slept late (man I was tired, I really needed that sleep) and in the evening Andre came to my place to just chill. We also made some taco's in the oven and it was delicious! At 8 I met up with my old co-workers from Moominworld and it was really nice to see them again after a long time. It's pretty amazing that we haven't worked together in three years but we still keep in touch.

Yesterday I worked until 7, took a quick shower and walked over to Andre's where had prepared a delicious meal for us. It was a perfect Saturday night with some wine, food and Melodifestivalen. And today I've managed to pay a visit to IKEA (just got some small stuff), also had dinner at my parents house and now me, Emppu and Essi are waiting for The Oscar's to start. Yup, we're keeping the tradition alive and we're actually pulling an all-nighter (The actual Gala starts at 3.30 in the night and ends at like 7...crayyy). I have school at 10 so I get like a good two hours of sleep? But hey, I have great company and I can't miss NPH hosting!

Ps. Our microwave broke, which totally sucks. But we're getting a new one for free this week, yay!

Love-fest at home as usual.

A lot going on.

It's been another one of those hectic weeks when I'm barely home at all and I just run around from place to place. But I'm having so much fun in the process though (but I am also pretty tired. Work hard play hard?).

On Tuesday I had a pretty long day, straight after school I went to worked, I got off at a quarter to nine, went straight home, ate, took a shower, got readfy and made my way to Emil's. ÅA had this thing called Fastlaskiainen but since I was working I decided I would still join the others at the after party. We ended up at B and I at least had a really fun night. I'll let the pictures speak for themselves..
AND the video, hopefully it'll work here but it's me and Ellen doing our favorite thing in the world: singing High School Musical! I also love how bored Andre looks.

What a romantic setting, right?

Yesterday I went to school at 12 to talk about a history project. My classes lasted until four but I stayed in school 'cause Britannica had their annual meeting and we had a board meeting after that. So at 6.30 I was finally able to leave, I just went home, ate, freshened up and made my way to Matilda's where we had a hang-out with the classmates. We played some board games, my favorite was Cards Against Humanity which I have been dying to play. It was so offensive and rude and I totally loved it. Definitely have to look into where I can buy that game 'cause I've wanted it for a looong time. I had a great time yesterday as well but you can imagine how tired I was. When I got home I finished my history project and finally went to bed and it felt amazing. So today I've been to school and after a quick visit at Julle's I came home, made some dinner, cleaned my room, did some school work and now I can enjoy doing absolutely nothing for the rest of the evening!

Four random things.

I have a lot on my mind right now so prepare for a possibly (probably)  long post about some random things (they mostly have to do with pop-culture, yay!)

ONE: Fifty Shades of Grey. I went to see the movie with my galpals last night and yes, my expectations were low. Mostly because I read the book and it's really not good, the thing that bothered me the most was the fact that it was so similar to twilight ('cause ya know it started out as kinky Twilight fan fiction) and Bella Swan is like the least relatable and most annoying literature character ever. And yes the dialogue was pretty cheesy (well mostly because it was just like in the book, Thank God they left out the "inner goddess" thing, that was just weird) but I loved the soundtrack and c'mon, Jamie Dornan is a total hottie. BUT WHY DIDN'T HE HAVE A BEARD? He looks so good in a beard.

TWO: Just saw Saturday Night Live's 40th anniversary special and O M G it was amazayn! Stefon! The Cowbell! Fallon & Timberlake! Kat & Garth! Tina Fey & Amy Poehler! Andy Samberg! The Californians! I was laughing my way through it.

THREE: (a lot of youtube videos right now. Deal with it.) Zachary Piona is one of my favorite Viners and I happened to see this video of him on my Facebook feed. Lulz he's crazy.

FOUR: Here's a picture of our awesome Board of Britannica! Aaaw yisss.

Valentine's Schmalentine's

It's been another hectic week so here's a "short" recap of what has been going on:

On Monday Andre came over to my place and we made some dinner and just watched tv. When we woke up on Tuesday I couldn't believe my eyes - the sun was actually shining and it was 7 degrees outside! I got to wear my leather jacket for the first time this spring (and yes I've said it so it's happening: Spring is totally here). I had a really great day so I didn't even mind working in the evening.

On Wednesday I went to our morning aerobics class with julle, after lunch I had a couple of classes and straight after school I met up with the board of Britannica to set up everything for the anti-Valentine's sitz. The sitz started at 7 and I have to say that it was pretty successful being the first sitz we've ever organized, and everybody loved the Anti-Valentine's day-cards I had made. But after a whole day of fixing and organizing and going from place to place I was completely exhausted at 2 and I fell asleep as soon as we got to Andre's.

On Thursday we basically just laid on the sofa the whole day, apart from when I met up with Julle and Emppu in the evening, and on Friday I had a lot of errands to run. I also had to make a quick appearance at my parents's house to fix some music for my grandpa's 70th birthday party. In the evening I went to see my old highschool's Gammeldans with Emppu which was a lot of fun, but it also made me a bit sad that it's already been three years since I was dancing with my friends. After the dancing was done, we got a ride from Emppu to town and since we were all super hungry, we stopped by Pikku-Torre to b a "small bite"... the three of us ended up eating huge hamburgers instead.

Yesterday I worked for 7 hours straight and made about 700 hundred donuts in the process. In the evening Andre came to "pick me up" at the apartment and handed me some flowers and a lovely homemade card. I also gave him his present (a snack-bowl, popcorn, chocolate and movie tickets... it's like a "stay-in-and-watch-movies-or-go-to-the-movies" thingy) and his card (I might be the left shark, but you're the right shark for me, cheesy right?). Then we walked to Pinella and seriously had the best restaurant food I've ever had in Finland. It could also have something to do with the fact that I hadn't eaten all day and was super hungry. Long story short: It was a very nice evening with wonderful food and the best company I could wish for! I have the best bf in the world, I really do!

Naked silences

It's been a productive but relaxing weekend. On Friday I went home to catch up with the family and Maya was adorable as she always is. Yesterday I worked and in the evening Julle, Emppu and Ella came over to watch Melodifestivalen. It was a lot of fun (even iof Ella basically fell asleep, lol). AND Today I went to the gym which felt amazing 'cause the sun was shining and the air was crisp and everything felt right. I've definitely had a great day. Sundays are the best!

It's funny, after my workout I went to the sauna at the gym, and I started to think about this article (read it here!) I read last week about and American who had moved to Finland, and he talked about some "bad" American habits he kicked in Finland. Two of them were being naked in front of other people and not being afraid of awkward silences. The reason it came to my mind was that I literally sat in the sauna naked with this woman for a good 15 minutes, and the only thing she asked me was if it was ok that she threw some more water on the stones. Otherwise we just sat in silence, naked, and minded our own business. And it was totally normal and fine. I'm definitely not a person who just gets up and starts chatting with randoms so I guess I was born to be Finnish.

Stop the tape and rewind.

I feel super pumped for this weekend, mostly because I can honestly relax and chill without having to worry about schoolwork or anything else. I've been sick all week so a few days off from everything is exactly what I need right now.

Yesterday Andre came to my place, I made him dinner and we watched tv which was perfect. The city was crawling with students in overalls, there was this big event called "Pikkulaskiainen" last night but I felt perfectly happy staying at home with Andre. He went to work early in the morning, the alarm went off at 6.15 but as soon as he had left I went back to bed and slept like a baby. Today I'm just chilling and in the evening I'm riding home with my mom to go and visit my family. Tomorrow I'm working and in the evening I'm meeting up with my friends to watch Melodifestivalen. Yay for eurovision!

Ps. I got a 5 in my History exam (which is the highest grade you can get) so go me! I mean after all the time I put in reading for the exam I am extremely happy!

And because I haven't taken ANY pictures in the last week, here's a few throwbacks from Februaries from the past years.
Ansku's 20th Birthday party in 2014. The theme was "Mexico" and for some reason that moustache actually looked like it belonged on my face. This birthday Ansku is in Australia, living the dream. If you wanna follow her journey, be sure to check her blog http://lifeofannalotta.blogspot.fi/ !

The picture below: Penkkis in 2013!

February 2013: My co-workers from Moominworld and I had a fun evening out. We all had to work the next day and as you can imagine, we did not feel to well.
As I am looking at pictures I am starting to realize that Februaries have always been very eventful in the past!

All of the pictures below are from 2012: Himos with the girls, Gammeldans cruize, Gammeldans, Party with my teammates...
Fun times, I'm feeling really nostalgic now! Which is also why I'm currently listening to One Direction. In 2012 I got really into them and ok, I'll admit, I was obsessed. When Emppu turned 18 in March, me and Kata were listening to More Than This over and over again. Unfortunately we have video proof of it as well...

February Favorites

See!? I am capable of posting more than once a week! It pretty much has to do with the fact that I am almost completely plan free this week, which feels super nice since the whole year so far has been super hectic (why do I feel like I always say that? I am definitely a busy gal). I mean the month of January basically flew by!

This post I thought I'd tell you a bit about the things I am getting pumped up about at the moment and the events I have to look forward to this month.
First of all, the sun was shining today, and even if it was like for five minutes, it's a definite sign that spring is on its way (and after a lot of thinking about it, I have decided that spring in fact is my favorite season)
I also have to admit that I am a liiiitle bit excited for Valentine's Day (not just because I'll be spending it with my bae BUT in Finland it's actually called "Friend Day" which means that you celebrate friendships! So hah! I am also super pumped for our F*ck V-Day sitz that Britannica is organizing.
February also means awards season and even though I am not that excited about the best movie nominees (I've only seen Birdman and The Grand Budapest Hotel (ok so I saw like 2/5 of the latter) but I am planning on watching The Theory of Everything tonight), I am totally looking forward to seeing NPH host. Also Melodifestivalen!!! Yaaas!

Sunday, February 1, 2015

I'm not trying to avoid blogging but the truth is that I am a very busy gal so I don't really have time, and most of the time nothing that exciting really happens during the week. But here I am again!

During this past week I've had a board meeting on Monday, worked on Tuesday, had a chill meeting in our Student's Lounge with other English students wWednesday (and everybody went craycray when I brought donuts, lol), also met up with my girls on Wednesday evening to catch up which was fun. On Thursday I had something called a "styssebytarsitz" where the old and the new board sitz together. We sang snapssongs and ate pizza and had a great time. I slept the night at Andre's so all Friday we just chilled, made lunch and watched the Grand Budapest Hotel (and I fell asleep and missed most of the movie, haha woops). Last night I worked and after work Emppu came to my place to chill. I was feeling a bit sick but either way she convinced me to go out for a drink or too. So in conclusion it pretty much feels like I haven't been home all week, I'm definitely staying in this Sunday, just gonna sit by the computer, read some blogs, drink a lot of tea to avoid getting sick and watch some tv.
here we sowed on overall patches on
Pictures from the styssebytar sitz

Oh and I also got these beautiful tulips from Essis mom which was a nice surprise, also because tulips are my favorite flowers!
