November, aka. Christmas!

Okay, maybe not quite, but it's definitely more socially acceptable to get in the Christmas spirit. But before I get into that, here's a few pictures from last week, aka. Halloween week! I'll start off by saying that my weeks was very relaxing and looking back it was a great week. Nothing major happened, but I got to spend time with my friends and my family, which always makes me very happy!

The sitz was a lot of fun and everybody had dressed up which I think is the best part about Halloween. Me and Andre went as Velma and Fred from Scooby Doo, and NO, they are not a couple so it's basically not a cheesy couples costumes!

On Thursday me and Andre basically just laid in bed all day, I honestly think it's the only way you can really cure a hangover. We also picked up some food from this new thai place, and although it wasn't as cheap as we would have hoped, it was really good! Too bad I can't remember the name of the restaurant, but the taste definitely took me back to Thailand!

I had a really long day on Friday with school from 8 'til twelve, and then work from 12 until 9. When I came home I was definitely exhausted, but Andre surprised me with some food and he had also vacuumed my apartment! I'm a pretty lucky lady.

On Saturday after watching "the Orphanage" (aka one of the best scary movies ever!) we got a ride to Raisio where we stayed the night. We ate my dad's risotto which was heavenly, lit some candles at my godmothers grave and watched Skyfall while playing Fruit Ninja, all in all it was a perfect Saturday. And on Sunday morning I got to go to the Sauna which I usually don't enjoy but it felt soo good and so refreshing. So on Sunday I felt like a completely new human being, basically.
Maya is the cutest//Haha Andre looks cute

Ps. I am going to Stockholm in 2 days with my History class, excited!

It has been a month (almost) since my last update, I know! Here's a quick recap :)))))))))

Me and Andre celebrated our 1 year anniversary by going minigolfing (which was terrifying tbh), having the best pre-dinner drink at Tiirakkala (Pacific Mist in my heart, always) and having a delicious dinner at E.Ekblom (I seriously recommend it, it was super cosy, very good service, food was divine and it was pretty cheap!). The best part though was spending all day with him!

Housewarming party @ Ellen's and bowling, the pictures are pretty self-explanatory I think!

Fall is finally here (actually, it is a bit too warm still I think...) but the leaves are a beautiful red and yellow color! Also it's Halloween and I AM OBSESSED WITH HALLOWEEN so I'm pretty pumped for our sitz tomorrow. Just a little bit.

PS! I promised to give my cousin and her friends a shout out, they have a travel blog where they explore different areas around Pittsburgh, please check it out at !

Hello October!

Yeah, I know, we're already a few days into October but I haven't really had any inspiration to write anything in here. But here I am again, trying!

I don't think these past few weeks have been that special, I've been sick so apart from going to school I've just focused on getting better really, and today I finally feel like a normal person so I'll definitely be hitting the gym tomorrow!

October is a pretty special month for me. First of all it's Halloween season and I love Halloween. I'm thinking of doing a sort of scary movie marathon this month. I've already started with Scary movie (ok, basically it's a parody of a scary movie but it's an easy start!). I'm definitely gonna check out A Nightmare before Christmas because I've never actually seen it, I feel ashamed writing that...

The second thing is that this month me and Andre will have been together for a year. Crazy, time goes by so fast!

Norlie & KKV

The new Snapchat  update has definitely been used frequently this past week, all of the pictures above are taken from Robin & Emil's beerpong tournament. Me and Andre were a pretty good team, we had a strong start with two victories in a row but it seemed as if we got worse as the night proceeded. Hmm, wonder why...?

On Saturday me and Emppu drove to Helsinki to see the swedish duo Norlie & KKV. I was super pumped since I have been dying to see them for a while now. Our hotel room reminded us a 70's themed bus, so that was fun. The gig was good but it was so short, only 45 minutes! On the other hand, I don't think I've ever been as sweaty as I was after the gig so it was nice to get out of the venue. We continued the festivities to Namu and since I've never been out and about in Helsinki, I was pretty pumped. The music was really good, and despite it being quite expensive, I can honestly say I had a great time. Before heading home on Sunday we had brunch at the Karl Fazer cafe and it was heaven on a plate.

I was already feeling pretty sick on Friday before the gig (That's what happens when your boyfriend says Hmm, isn't it weird that neither of us have gotten sick yet with all of our friends having the flu... thanks for that one) so Sunday was pretty much spent in bed trying not to die. Luckily with the help of Finrexin, Strepsils and cuddles I'm not feeling much better (Unfortunately the cuddler is now the one who is sick, sorryyyyy)

It's a new week and I've taken it by the horns (Ok so the first two days I didn't because I was still sick but today I've turned a new leaf). I actually woke up at 7 in the morning without any alarm so I decided to make the most out of this morning by cleaning the kitchen, having a nice breakfast and heading early to school. I've also managed to pay some bills, do some homework and may I say that I am totally feeling myself today. YAY HAVE A GREAT DAY EVERYBODY xxx

The rest of the week is going to be pretty intense, especially tomorrow. I have aerobics class in the morning, classes, board stuff, beerpong tournament, work, a charity run and Norlie & KKV gig in Helsinki! Yikes, I am stressed but very excited!

Sunday Funday

Last week went by really fast, mostly because I worked on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, so those days tend to go by a lot faster anyways. Thursday in particular was a very long day, because I worked from 8 to 5, and after that I went straight to the park by the church where Britannica had their checkpoint in the "gulisintagning" aka the welcoming ceremony thingy for new students. I really think people enjoyed the slip n' slide we had them sliding on, and we definitely had a good time watching people get wet.

On Friday after work Andre came to my place and we just chilled and watched tv which was definitely something I really needed after what felt like the longest day ever at work. On Saturday we did some shopping (well, all I got was a bottle of wine but that counts right?) and we also decided to try out Pink Vanilla Desserts which I had been dying to try out. I have to say I was a bit disappointed, just because everything was way too sweet. I mean it's American so I get that it's very sweet but it was just way too much. I definitely think Emppu's cupcakes are way better, but I was still happy that I tried it out!

Today I've just been to the gym and had dinner at my parents' house (which was heavenly), now I'm just thinking of the upcoming week  and I have some pretty fun things planned, so I am excited to say the least!

Monday, September 7, 2015

Hola! Merry Monday everybody. Since my pictures nowadays mostly consist of snaps, above you can see a little collage of my most recent pics; I've mostly had a lot of chai lattes (my absolute favorite, it tastes like Christmas in a cup, how can you not like that?!), Chilling with my favorite peeps and updates on the ever changing weather over here. It's been raining and it's been cold, but I don't mind it at all, 'cause it means I can finally start wearing sweaters, I won't be so goddamn hot all the time and I can light candles and drink tea, YAS!

I've also had time to think about my BA thesis which I am now pretty excited about, I've planned a fun weekend trip with Emppu, I'm really looking forward to the events we're planning with Britannica, my morning aerobics class starts in a week and all in all I feel pretty happy about everything. Yay for fall and yay for sometimes feeling like you're actually doing this thing called adulthood pretty decently! xo

Heyoo! The first day of this semester was pretty chill; we introduced ourselves to the new students, had a meeting with our board to discuss upcoming events, had lunch, and got information about this semester in general. I don't have that many classes at least this first period, but I intend on making good progress with my bachelor's essay. I have two ideas as to what I will write about so I just have to do some more research before choosing my final topic!

After work I got home and watched the VMA's and Paradise Hotel. And today I have had the day off so I woke up early and went to a dance class at my gym, I cleaned the whole apartment and now I'm planning on making some dinner. Later I'm meeting up with the other English students to play some football and hopefully some basketball as well, it's been so long since I've last shot some hoops (and I plan on crushing everybody else).
Here's the board! Check out our instagram account if you want to! :)

Perfect ending to the summer

First let's recap this summer: it went by super fast. In the blink of an eye. Considering that my summer holiday basically started in May, I've been out of school for almost 4 months. Yikes, I'm glad to get back to studying to be honest. Some of the most memorable moments were; mini holiday to Sweden with Emppu and Julle which was super fun; Midsummer with my girls; Nadya and Tessa coming to visit (and my grandma and Rob!); Hanging out with my family; hanging out with Andre and then missing him when he was gone; Ruisrock; mini holiday to Malax; this weekend.

Ok so this weekend was the last weekend of summer, and it was a good one. On Friday after work me and Andre went to Raisio and watched Austin Powers with my family. We stayed the night because on Saturday morning we drove to Helsinki and Linnanmäki. I absolutely love amusement parks and I haven't been to one in Finland for ages (3 years to be more exact). It was so much fun! We went on almost all of the rides (NOT the Ferris wheel of the free fall-rides because me and heights and going up slowly do not go well together). We ate street food and ice-cream and Andre won me a fluffy polar bear and I won him a stress ball XD. If I was a kid from Monster's Inc, they could've lit up an entire city with my screams alone!
Ice cream break!

Trying to take a cute picture in the tea cup didn't quite work out...

My butt was so wet after this...

I FINALLY got to put one of those city filters on Snapchat *way too excited*

We got back pretty late but decided to hang out with Emil and Emppu at Andres place. A glass of wine turned into a couple of glasses but it was actually a pretty great spontaneous chill night. Today me and Andre just chilled on the couch and made wok and watched HIMYM; he hasn't really ever followed the series so this summer we have gone through 5 seasons. I never get tired of watching it. In the evening we went to see the Disney Pixar movie Inside Out. I have been waiting for this movie for months and it did not disappoint me! I laughed and I cried, I was happy and sad and nostalgic and it seriously might be my favorite Disney Pixar movie, it's definitely in the very top!

I think I liked sadness the most. It was a good reminder that it's ok to feel sad about things at times, even if you don't really have a "reason" to.
Now I'm laying in bed, trying to figure out what to wear and figuring out how my week will look. The first wo weeks are always hectic, but it looks as if I will have a lot of free time on my hands. Which is good, I mena, I have a bachelor's thesis to write! Have a great week everybody!

It's been a while

Ok I haven't written anything in like 2 weeks and a lot of things have happened since then. So here's a short recap:
*Julle had a going-away party since she will be spending the next 6 months studying abroad in Copenhagen, Denmark! It was a blast, in fact it was so much fun I basically stayed up all ´night. You can imagine how I spent the entire next day... yes, I slept.
*Andre had his last work shift so I've made sure to spend a lot of time with him to catch up with all the weeks he was away this summer. We even took a trip to his hometown Malax and spent a weekend with his family, which was really relaxing!
*School starts next week (!!!) which means a lot od stress about courses and my bachelor's thesis which I am beginning to write this fall, but it also feels pretty great to get back to everyday life, to meet my friends at school and get back to studying.
* We booked a trip! In December me, my family and Andre are going to Florida for two weeks where we're renting an apartment, then we'll fly to Charlotte, North Carolina and spend Christmas with Tessa, Adam and Nadya. Can't wait!

To conclude this post: pictures! (in no particular order)
Hungover on a Sunday means the sofa is your bae

Girls and guitar seassions at 5 a.m

Fun story: HIM played a gig at Klubi, the nightclub right under my apartment. I litarally waited one hour looking out my window for them to come out so I could get a picture. You couldn't really recognize leadman Ville Valo so I had to circle him in red. lol, worth it.

Sunbathing with Emppu//Homemade avocado and chicken pasta//Mira, my co-worker did some wonders with my hair... hello highlights!

Homemade sushi dinner date, it was Andre's first time rolling sushi and I think he did a pretty good job!

Snapshots part.24568176

Yes, I am very bad at blogging and like most of this summers blogposts, this post will mostly include snapchat pictures with captions. Yaaaayyy let's get to it.

1. I finally got my (trannslation:) "Why Paris when we have Turku" poster // Just chilling and sufin'
2. Andre and Maya cuddling
3. Andre and me cuddling (which is a totally appropriate thing to do on a Sunday night). Also, notice how we're both snapchatting basically the same thing. Lame, I know.
4. Me and Emppu on Saturday at Isa's. The night ended with my first ever "bar catfight", drinks being thrown and the whole shabang. I mostly just tried to cool everyone down but in the end I was soaked in cider which is an experience, I guess. All I can say is that some people need to chill (!!!) and it definitely was not our fault!

5. Maya is the cutest!
6. Today I finally had the evening shift which meant I could enjoy the sun like everybody else (Andre is more tanned than me at this point and that is not acceptable. Don't worry, I'm planning on catching up this week). Too bad that it was abit cloudy at first but I got a good couple of hours of sun in the end. Maybe summer isn't over yet!

Rainbows & Birthdays

Yes, I know I've been terrible at updating. So once again I'll just post a few pics from last week with short descriptions of what has been going on. Toodeloo!

On Friday both Emil and Robin celebrated their 22nd birthday. I had lots of fun singing and chatting with friends, but when the others continued to the Monkey I decided to go home since I had work in the morning, a very wise choice I must say. The credit for the writing on the donuts go to my co-workers Riina and Laura who are way craftier than me!

Last night: vegetarian "balls" (bahahah, balls) and Legally Blonde 2, could it get any better?//Was going to bed but ended up watching youtube videos for 2 hours, typical...// Went to see a horror movie called "The Gallows" with Essi, quite ok but not as scary as I had hoped! Got a few good screams out of me though.
I'll end the post with this pretty rainbow spotted outside my building (Yes, this is the amazing view pout my window)

Ant man, sushi and new stuff

Pictures from last week in no particular order!

I went on a bit of a shopping spree and came home with this cute romper pyjama, two tops and a cardigan, all from H&M and on sale! Score!

Last night I met up with Emppu and had a few drinks at Donna. I was going for a bit of a emo look as you can see. Otherwise I've been reading Amy Poehler's Yes Please which I believe is a book everybody should read. Seriously funny!

I had a great date night with Andre the other day which included Sushi lunch, cookie/chocolate popcorn ice cream, and the Ant Man movie, another movie I'd seriously recommend, even if you don't like superhero movies!
