I'm gonna start by saying that I've been super sick this week but now I'm finally starting to feel a bit better, which I good because I somehow always manage to get sick right before a flight and it's probably the worst thing ever. So here's hoping I'll me cough-free on Wednesday!

This weekend has been fully packed, starting with Glöggrundan on Friday. After school I wasn't feeling pumped at all, I pretty much felt like just staying and bed. But after a shower and sowing on a few patches on my overall I felt a bit better. I met up with my classmates, Julle & Cristel at the Church at 3.30 where we exchanged our tickets into maps. Then we started walking around from place to place, had a glögg or some other drink and just chilled. I saw Johanna which was definitely one of the highlights of the night, I haven't seen her in forever so it was nice to catch up briefly. We definitely need to meet more often!

The whole point with the bar crawl was to collect stamps and when you had enough of them, you'd get a patch for your overall. Well, of course I managed to lose my map just when I had enough stamps. I was sad for a while but in the end it didn't really matter, I had a great time with my friends and that was the most important thing. After having pizza at my place we went to check out the line to the Monkey which was the official venue for the after party, and it was craaaazy long. Luckily we found some people we knew in the line so we pretty much just skipped the line and got in pretty fast. The Monkey was so crowded and I had work on Saturday morning, so I was home already at 12. But yup, awesome night with special people, definitely doing it again next year.
No, I didn't do all of those shots...
Glöggrundan selfie!!

Like I said, I worked the whole day yesterday, almost 10 hours. When I came home I just gathered my stuff and drove home to my parents to Raisio, I had promised to babysitt the brother and the dog. I was so exhausted after everything that's been going on so I went to bed at 11.30 which is pretty early, and got a good 10 hours of sleep. It was definitely what I needed. I've been to work today again, but now I'm at home doing some homework (Homework on a Sunday evening should be illegal people), Essi's also come home after being gone for almost a week so I've catched up with her on everything that's happened and as soon as I'm finished with the homework I have to download some music and start packing... Ugh, I HATE packing, specially for a trip this long.
Maya was acting like a complete teenager last night, she only did things she wasn't allowed to do and wanted me to keep wrestling with her. It's ok, I still love her. I mean how could I resist those puppy eyes?

The Chamber of Secrets has been opened

The Harry Potter themed sitz last night was awesome! The board of Britannica had worked really hard to decorate the place to look like Hogwarts and all the participants had really made an effort in their costumes, which was awesome. I'll let the pictures speak for themselves!

I was born sick, but I love it.

Merry Monday everybody! This week is super booked for me, not only do I have tons of schoolwork to finish, I also have a sitz, work, Glöggrundan is coming up, then I have to start packing, exchange some money and do a little more homework. Today I've been trying to finish some of my essays which are due this week, without much success really. I did manage to get one history essay done but it took me soooo long, my mind was completely blank when I sat down in front of my computer. Also I'm feeling a bit sick (damn Essi, she's been sick all last week and looks like I'm getting whatever she's had) and I definitely don't want to be sick right now.

At least it's cosy writing essays in the candlelight. Although, one of my scented candles gave me a serious headache. Ps. I am obsessed with the song below atm, I heard it randomly at work, googled it and now it's on repeat.

Thought I'd make a quick update on what I've been doing for the past few days. On Thursday (as I mentioned before) we had a "wine/board-game" night with the classmates. I can't remember when was the last time I laughed as hard as I did, when Matilda did her celebrity impressions. They were fantastic guurl!

On Friday I met up with my friends and we went to see Hunger Games: Mockingjay. I've read the books and I loved the two first movies so I had pretty high expectations, and I have to say that I really liked the third one as well! Makes me want to read the whole series again! After the movie we drove to Ella's where we had a chill girls-night in. It's been a while since all of us (who are currently in Åbo) met up so it was definitely nice to catxh up with everybody. Especially when I won't be seeing them for almost a month.

I love how the ship-name for Katniss and Peeta is either Katpee or Peeniss...

This weekend I've just been working and it's definitely been two hectic days. Yesterday they had this Christmas-opening extravaganza so the whole city center was packed and the same thing today. Obviously our coffee-machine and our oven decided to stop working, so typical.

Blast from the past

Just read Ansku's blog (who btw going to Australia on Saturday and will stay there for 3 months (!!!) and become a bartender) and saw she had made a post where she had posted old pictures so I'm basically just copying her now and doing the same! Enjoyyyy!

I think I've mentioned my bedroom wall quite frequently in recent posts but here's another picture which proves how crowded it actually was. However, something creepy happened and one night when I went to sleep there was a man standing behind my window staring at me when I was in bed (I know, super creepy) and after that all of the faces on the posters just looked like they were staring at me so I took them all down.

This picture is from my old high school girl's bathroom, where we spent a lot of time (for some reason) during recesses.

Christmas time 2009

Fun night with the team 2010

That one time I was Lucia and we actually performed in an IKEA store. We walked around the store and sang Christmas songs. We had to sing Santa Lucia probably 7 times just to walk once around the whole store. I think people mostly just thought we were in the way, haha.

Albanus 2009. For sure one of the most fun things we ever did with my old high school class. It was just a couple of days but we got to sail on this boat, make dinner together, chill, watch the stars and talk about everything between the moon and the earth. And we got to take naps on the deck in the sunshine, as you can see. Good times!

Gammeldans 2012

Rhodos 2012. Hahha we had so much fun on those rings!

She got a body like an hourglass

... but I can give it to you all the tiiiiiime. Just got back from seeing Julle and Emppu in their dance-performance and I can easily say that I have very very talented friends. And now that song is stuck in my head.

I'm quite satisfied with my input this week, I've managed to finish off some of my workload but I still have tons to do before we leave in two weeks. I'm also super excited for the game board night we have planned for tomorrow with my classmates AND the Harry Potter sitz which takes place next week. Everybody seems to be putting a lot of effort into their costumes and I think that's great, I have a feeling it will be a huge success. Speaking of sitzes, I will be participating in the board of our student organization Britannica next year, which means I will be planning events, like sitzes, starting January. I was a bit skeptic about joining at first since I barely have any free time with school and work, but I should have less hours in school next year so I decided to go for it. I'm super pumped and I think it'll definitely be something I'll enjoy.
The quality sucks 'cause I took the picture with my phone and the dancers were obviously moving but I think the badass-ness shines though either way.
Also go to visit this cutie-pie on Sunday, love love love!

Christmas sangria

We ended up staying at my place last night baking gingerbread. I also made a  Christmas-sangria which was absolutely delicious. The version I did was quite simple, I basically just cut a few red crispy apples into cubes, out them in a glass with some ice and poured a bit of red wine-glögg and this Christmas juice (It was like this apple juice that had some Christmas flavors in it) and that was it. But I saw some more complex recipes on Pinterest, if any of you are interested.
We actually ended up having a High School Musical marathon which was just what I needed. So yup, a pretty perfect Saturday night with Ella and Essi. Today I'm writing on my essay (finally figured out my topic) and later I'm going home to visit my familia. I can't believe it's only two weeks until we're going to Thailand, I am sooooo excited!

Happy Saturday! I'm just sitting at home by myself, watching American Horror Story and trying to figure out what to do tonight. I was supposed to go and have dinner with the people I work with but turns out that a lot of people can't come so we'll probably cancel. Bummer. I also have to start working on an essay but currently I am totally out of ideas on what to write about.
The plans so far are either to go out for a drink or stay in and bake gingerbread. Both good options, hmmm....

It's my right to be hellish, I still get jealous

On replay 24/7 at the moment. My love for Nick Jonas is never-ending, I think all of my friends who have known me since high school know that a bit too well. Not only was my wall covered in pictures of him but I basically put his face on everything I could. I remember I had a ruler which was covered with pictures of Nick Jonas's face (gosh I sound like a creep) and then I lost the ruler in school! I searched for it for days  and then one day I saw a girl using it and I actually went up to her and asked to get in back. The ruler was literally made out of cardboard and worth nothing, plus apparently it had traveled through a lot of people since almost every Nick Jonas on the ruler had a mustache or glasses drawn on him. But I got it back and was super happy!

KK 91

I have to start this post by saying that it has been an absolutely crazy and fun weekend, and I am so tired. But it was totally worth it.

My Saturday started off much earlier than usually, but it was actually for once to get up early and eat breakfast without a hurry, I even had time to tidy up a bit before I got a guest. I had promised to fix the hair of a gil who knows Ella, so she came to my place and I did her hair (she was also gonna attend the same annual party as me). It took about an hour and I was quite pleased with the result as well. I started making my way to Julle's at 12 and when I got there we had some lunch together. We thought it would be better to start getting ready in time so that we had all the time in the world and wouldn't have to stress. Well, at approximately 4 we were all done and 'solemnakten' didn't start until 6 so we had a few hours to kill. We mostly took selfies and sang Christmas songs, 'cause that's just how we roll.
We're cute, right?

Finally got to wear my Gammeldans dress again after almost three years!

The 'solemnakt' was basically a small gathering of all the representatives of the different student's associations who congratulated the board of Kemistklubben for turning 91 years. The actually dinner and party was at Kåren, and me and Julle we're seated next to some very friendly Norwegians. The dinner was delicious, the company was good and it all ended with some waltz-dancing.

Best date!

After the actual dinner party, me and Julle went to her place to get into our coctail dresses for the after party at B. I had a blast (minus a littel late night argument with Julle that ended with both of us crying and confessing our love for eachother) and the time was 7 o'clock in the morning when I finally went to sleep. I only have one picture from the actual after party (then again, maybe that's a good thing...)

You can imagine how I felt when I woke up after 4 hours of sleep and was supposed to go back to B for the Sillis. But I got up, got ready and one hour later I was back at B for breakfast. As soon as I stepped in I was handed a bottle of vodka, haha. Anyways, the Sillis was my favorite part of the whole weekend and when I finally made my way home at 5 on a Sunday evening, after dancing in foam and doing bellyshots in the street (yup...) I was super bummed that it was over. My mom came to pick me up and I went home to have dinner with my parents since it was Father's day here in Finland. In the evening all of the partying seriously took it's toll on me and I had a raging headache, so I went to bed pretty early. Definitely an awesome weekend, but it's definitely something I'd only do once a year.

Not sure what's going on in this picture...

Christmas in November?

Crazy how time flies, can't believe it's already November! That also means that it's exactly one month until me and my family travel to Thailand for a 3 week holiday. I am in desperate need of some time off of school and also in desperate need of a tan, so the timing couldn't be more perfect.

I also realized that I'll be gone for the most of December which means that I'll miss all the Christmasy-stuff you do; baking gingerbread, listening to Christmas music, lighting a candle on advent... I mean Christmas abroad isn't a new thing for me or anything, on the contrary it's what I consider to be Christmas but in the previous years we've been in Florida and America is like the capital of materialized Christmas, Thailand not so much. So I think since Halloween is over it's perfectly acceptable for me to get my Christmas on this November. I will start today by drinking some glögg and perhaps even watch Love Actually, my favorite Christmas movie of all time (either that or Nightmare before Christmas because it's basically a Halloween movie and a Christmas movie and I havne't actually seen it before while Love Actually I've seen probably 20 times...). I will do that as soon as I finish my essay on Communism. From communism to Christmas, how nice.

This week is going to be super busy for me, in fact this whole month is going to be super busy. This weekend I am attending the annual party of Kemistklubben which I am super excited about, but before that I have tons of deadlines and some shifts at work, so better get to it!

Ps. Just as I was finishing this post, my roomie's clock started to ring out of the blue. I'm home alone and I'm 99% sure there's a demon in the house ready to attack. The apartment is haunted, please help! (Jk, but it was seriously creepy, straight out of a horror movie).

Haven't had time to update, but here's a recap of the last week for you:

On Monday Britannica had organized a pub quiz and me and my classmates formed a group called "Cantenbury Fails". We were pretty confident in our team, but in the end we came in fourth place. I was still very pleased with our input, and besides, the most important thing isn't winning but having a good time with your friends. I ended up going to an after party for a while but I was home at 2, which is pretty early considering.

On Wednesday after doing my homework and meeting up with my mama real quickly, me and Emppu headed to the movies. In the spirit of Halloween we thought it would be most appropriate to go and see a scary movie, Annabelle more specifically. It was so much worse than I imagined. I both hate and love horror movies at the same time - they scare the living shit out of me but at the same time I like it. I guess you could say I'm a scary movie sadomasochist.

On Thursday I basically just went to school, work and watched The Bachelorette with Essi and on Friday after work I quickly got home, made myself ready and headed to Ansku for her Halloween/Going Away Party (Thanks for having us Ancha, I had a great time). My favorite part was playing Baseball, which is a drinking game which combines Beer Pong and Flip Cup and it was awesome, even though my team lost. After a lot of hassel with the taxis and a quick stop by Aapo's, we finally made it to the Monkey where we danced until about 3 o'clock, when I was totally ready to go home. But yup, definitely a super fun Halloween!
Can you guess what I'm dressed as (I'm also not the only one sporting crazy, blue hair...) I'm Marge Simpson duuuh

Today I've just been chilling at home, Julle came over and we got some pizzas from Koti pizza and watched tv. I also rearranged a bit in my room so I'll try to take a picture of it and post it here 'cause I actually like the way my room looks right now!
